Itinerary

How the day runs

  1. Step 1

    Pick up from your Hotel

    • The adventure begins on the trail to Laguna Esmeralda, located in the Valle Tierra Mayor Nature and Landscape Reserve, which is accessed from National Route 3, 18 kilometers from the city of Ushuaia.
    • In our winter version, after equipping ourselves with crampons or snowshoes, we begin a hike that will take us to a beautiful place among snow-capped mountains that will give the landscape a striking panorama.
    • At the beginning of the trail, the dominant vegetation is the lenga forest, a tree native to the area. The route continues through areas where foliage alternates with peat bogs, until reaching a high mountain environment, with an average altitude of 600 meters above sea level. Once you reach the lagoon, you can appreciate the majestic forest and snow-capped peaks that surround it. The greenish color of its waters is due to the sediment from the Ojo del Albino Glacier, a fantastic feature of this hike, as the color can be seen from wherever you are.
