Where Ezeiza airport is, and how long the trip really takes

Ezeiza International Airport is officially Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini. It sits 32km (20 miles) from central Buenos Aires, south-southwest of the city on the Autopista Ricchieri. The same official source puts the drive at about 50 minutes outside rush hour. Add extra time during the morning and evening peaks, or after a big match at one of the city’s stadiums. A tight connection is worth an extra half hour of buffer.

Ezeiza is the country’s busiest international gateway. Most long-haul flights use it. Aeroparque, the other Buenos Aires airport, sits inside the city and handles domestic routes instead. Check which airport your flight uses before you book a hotel, since the two sit on opposite sides of town.

These are per-person prices, dated 19 April 2026. All of them move with the peso, so treat the ranges as a guide, not a quote. A private transfer and an official taxi land in the same bracket. The real difference is timing: a transfer is arranged before you land, a taxi is a queue at a counter once you clear customs.

Manuel Tienda León is the long-standing shuttle operator. It runs buses from the airport to its own terminal in Puerto Madero. Fares are set in pesos and move too often to print here. Expect a price close to a rideshare fare once you convert it.

One name to drop from memory: NEO. The Metropol-run shuttle that used to connect Ezeiza and Aeroparque stopped operating in June 2026, and its stand at the airport now sits empty. Any list of options written before that date is out of date.

Uber and Cabify both operate legally at Ezeiza. They pick up from a designated lane outside international arrivals, not the official taxi rank. The Line 8 bus takes SUBE cards only, no cash. It runs about 60 minutes on its faster semi-rápido branch, up to 2 hours on the regular route, and has served Aeroparque as well as the centre since December 2023. It is the cheapest way in by a wide margin, and also the slowest.

Ezeiza’s terminals, and which one you’ll use

Ezeiza’s new departures terminal opened in April 2023. It measures 44,276 m² and now handles every outbound flight, domestic and international, from one roof. Arrivals stayed split across the two older buildings. International flights land at the former Terminal A. Domestic arrivals use the former Terminal C. All three buildings sit within walking distance of each other, so there is no internal shuttle between them.

Every terminal at Ezeiza has free wifi. There is no reason to buy a local SIM before you clear customs.

What happens after you land: money, wifi and customs

After baggage claim you pass through green or red customs channels. Green is for nothing to declare, red is for something to declare. The Banco de la Nación Argentina counter in international arrivals operates 24 hours a day, with ATMs from Banco Nación and Citibank nearby. There is no need to arrive with pesos already in hand.

Taxi and transfer counters in the arrivals hall take cards and US dollars as well as pesos. That helps if you land without local currency. Save the pesos you do carry for coffee, kiosks and the neighbourhoods you will actually spend the trip in. Line 8 needs a SUBE card already loaded, not bought on board. Most first-time visitors will not have one yet. That is the practical case for using the bus on the way out rather than on the way in.

Flying out of Ezeiza

The departure process runs in reverse through the terminal that opened in 2023: check-in, security, passport control, then a single set of gates for both domestic and international flights. Arrive with the usual international buffer of three hours. Add more on a public holiday weekend, when the drive in from the centre takes longer than the 50 minutes it normally does.

Ezeiza airport to Buenos Aires: which transport should you book

A taxi or an app-based ride works fine for one traveller with no interest in comparing quotes at the counter. It does the job at a similar or lower price than a transfer. For two or more people, or for a first landing anywhere unfamiliar, the maths and the logistics both shift.

Lati Travel’s own transfer between Ezeiza and Buenos Aires is priced per booking rather than per person, at US$55. That undercuts two individual taxi fares the moment there is more than one of you. It also comes with the driver’s details and a short video on where to find them, sent by WhatsApp before you land. The flight is tracked, so the pickup adjusts if it is delayed instead of starting a clock at the scheduled time. None of that replaces the comparison above. It just removes the part of the arrival where you are tired, in a new country, and trying to work out which counter is real.
