The Colca Valley and the Colca Canyon, with the condors at the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint

The Colca Valley is a few hours from Arequipa. It holds the Colca Canyon, twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, with pre-Inca agricultural terraces on its sides and Andean condors overhead. The canyon was carved by the Colca River, and people have farmed its sides for a very long time. Along the way there are Andean villages, markets and viewpoints over the valley.
