Experience a full-day Machu Picchu Tour from Cusco including a scenic train ride, guided visit to Machu Picchu, and return with included lunch.

The Machu Picchu tour from Cusco starts with a hotel pickup between 3:30 and 4:10 am. Transfer to Ollantaytambo station, then 1 hour 40 minutes by train to Aguas Calientes, the town below Machu Picchu.

Arriving at Aguas Calientes around 7:40 am, our transfer service will greet you at the station and provide a detailed briefing about your Machu Picchu Day Tour itinerary. There is time for the central market in Aguas Calientes before the group meets at the Plaza de Armas or the bus station for the climb to the citadel.

Inside Machu Picchu, a guided tour of about 2 hours through the main sectors of the city. After the guided tour, you will have free time to roam the citadel independently until around 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

After exploring Machu Picchu, return to Aguas Calientes where a delicious included lunch awaits you. There is free time afterwards, in the town.

At approximately 5:50 to 6:30 pm, you will board the return tourist train to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, a transfer will bring you back to the city center of Cusco, completing your full-day adventure.

What to bring

  • Altitude sickness pills ("Soroche Pills").
  • Trekking shoes or waterproof boots for your comfort; sneakers with rubber or thick soles are also an excellent option.
  • Rain gear: A good raincoat and rain pants (only for the rainy season).
  • Extra money for drinks, tips, souvenirs, etc. (in soles or dollars).
